Japan CCS held its annual CCS Forum and field trip on March 8 (SAT), 2025.
Hosted by Japan CCS, the annual CCS Forum under the theme “Global Warming and CCS” was held in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, with an attendance of 178 people. In the morning, 31 people participated in a field trip to the Tomakomai CCS Demonstration Center.
Part 1 was a talk entitled “Global Warming and Microbes living on Glaciers”, presented by Dr. Jun Uetake, Associate Professor, Field Research Center for Northern Biosphere Tomakomai Expelimental Forest, Hokkaido University.
Part 2 was a talk entitled “Japan’s CCUS policy and Tomakomai” given by Mr. Masaki Tone, Director, Carbon Management Division, Natural Resources and Fuel Department, the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI).
