Japan CCS was awarded the “Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Contribution” from The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Power & Energy Systems Division.

Japan CCS was awarded the “Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Contribution”, which is the Division’s General Award of The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Power & Energy Systems Division. Japan CCS received the award for the achievement of 300 thousand tonnes cumulative CO2 injection at Japan’ s first large-scale integrated CCS demonstration project, which verified the feasibility of safe and economical CCS in earthquake-prone Japan through operation during the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake, as well as for the achievement without accidents or disasters.

This award honors the achievement of organizations that have contributed over many years to the research and technological development of power and energy systems in Japan.

Toshiaki Nakajima, President, and Shoichi Ishii, Special Corporate Advisor attended the award presentation ceremony, representing Japan CCS.
